Coneheads 2: Beyond the Cones

A next-generation family continuation in which Earth, Remulakian history, and the returning Zeplak Protocol collide—forcing a family that learned how to belong here to decide what belonging means when the wider galaxy comes calling.

Aurora Design Studios visual development for Coneheads 2: Beyond the Cones, showing the alien family in suburbia beneath visiting spacecraft.

Source-Grounded Pitch Treatment

Logline

An assimilated alien family is pulled into a new interstellar review when the Zeplak Protocol resurfaces, forcing a next generation raised between Earth and Remulakian identity to decide which world—and which rules—define home.

Set-Up

Earth is no longer temporary. The family has jobs, relationships, obligations and routines, and the younger generation understands human culture in ways the older generation never fully can. That stability makes the return of Remulakian authority more disruptive, not less.

Inciting Movement

The Zeplak Protocol reactivates and brings dormant interstellar obligations into the open. What initially looks like procedural comedy becomes a direct challenge to the family’s legal, cultural and emotional status on Earth.

Middle Engine

The strongest set pieces alternate between suburban normalcy and alien protocol: school, work, neighborhood institutions, public misunderstanding, Remulakian history, visiting officials, and the family’s differing interpretations of what they owe to either world.

Final Promise

The climax is not simply about escaping alien bureaucracy. It forces the family to choose whether belonging is inherited, assigned or earned. The sequel can open the galaxy while ending on a specifically family-sized decision.

Tone

Broad, affectionate science-fiction comedy with family at the center. Social satire is useful when it emerges from character and culture clash; it should never overwhelm the warmth or reduce the story to topical jokes.

Public-use rule: This treatment summarizes the controlled screenplay concept. It does not expose full scenes or imply franchise authorization.
