Nathaniel Locke examining historical manuscripts and scientific evidence in a lamplit archive

Pitch Treatment

The Nathaniel Locke Universe blends detective mystery, historical conspiracy, speculative science, and philosophical adventure into a flexible franchise built around one central question: what if human history contains a hidden pattern that only the right investigator can see? At the center is Detective Nathaniel Locke, a disciplined investigator whose gift is not brute force, power, or authority, but the ability to connect evidence across time, culture, science, art, and human behavior.

Locke’s cases begin with ordinary investigative triggers: an unexplained death, a missing manuscript, a ruined laboratory, a lost artifact, or a discovery someone tried to bury. But the evidence never stays ordinary. Leonardo da Vinci sketches, Tesla patents, Einstein equations, ancient maps, lost manuscripts, and unexplained artifacts begin to form a larger structure. Threads of light connect inventions, works of art, scientific breakthroughs, and mythic symbols across centuries.

As Locke digs deeper, he realizes that some of history’s greatest achievements may not have emerged in isolation. Artists, scientists, philosophers, engineers, and explorers appear to have been touched by unseen influences. Some were protected. Some were manipulated. Some left warnings hidden inside their work. Behind the visible record of civilization is another archive: a secret architecture of inspiration, memory, and knowledge.

Extended Treatment

The Muses stand at the heart of that mystery. They are not simple mythological figures or passive symbols of creativity. They are observers, guardians, and possible survivors of an older order whose purpose remains uncertain. They rarely interfere directly. Instead, they nudge, conceal, protect, and occasionally sacrifice. Their silence raises the central tension of the franchise: are they defending humanity’s creative spark, or controlling it for reasons Locke cannot yet understand?

Opposing them is a hidden faction that seeks to exploit inspiration itself. Whether known as collectors, idolaters, technocrats, or cultural predators, these forces want to manufacture genius, own creativity, rewrite discovery, and convert imagination into power. Locke becomes the line of defense against those who would commodify the deepest parts of human consciousness.

The universe is designed for novels, short stories, case files, streaming seasons, graphic novels, and companion archives. Each story can operate as a self-contained mystery while advancing the larger arc. One book can investigate a modern murder connected to Tesla. Another can uncover a Renaissance machine hidden in Da Vinci’s drawings. A short story can follow Ava-9 decoding a forgotten manuscript. A season of television can follow Locke across museums, observatories, ruins, archives, and digital evidence vaults.

At its best, the Nathaniel Locke Universe is not just about solving crimes. It is about solving civilization. Every case is a clue. Every clue reveals a pattern. Every pattern leads closer to the Muses.
