Aurora Design Studios is seeking experienced literary representation for original, high-concept science-fiction manuscripts with series potential, substantial worldbuilding, and credible adaptation value. The immediate goal is a book-publishing relationship; screen rights and other subsidiary rights should be evaluated deliberately, not surrendered automatically.

What Aurora is looking for in an agent

Fit matters more than agency size. The right representative should understand both the commercial book market and the long-term value of a carefully governed story universe.

Genre fluency

Active interest in adult science fiction, speculative fiction, techno-thrillers, social futures, or science-driven commercial storytelling.

Editorial judgment

Ability to identify the strongest lead manuscript, sharpen the market position, and advise on structure without flattening the intellectual ambition of the work.

Rights capability

A credible plan for domestic publishing plus foreign, translation, audio, and book-to-screen rights—whether handled directly or with trusted co-agents.

Series strategy

Comfort presenting one satisfying first novel while explaining the existence of completed or planned continuation material without forcing the publisher to acquire every volume at once.

Transparent communication

Clear submission lists, prompt disclosure of interest and passes, readable accounting, and no hidden charges or pay-to-submit model.

Career stewardship

Interest in building an author career and a coherent body of work, not merely shopping a single manuscript and disappearing after the first sales cycle.

Each query should feature one flagship manuscript. Additional books and adaptation materials are mentioned briefly and supplied only when an agent requests them.

Submission discipline: Aurora follows each agent’s current instructions. No mass email, no screenplay sent to a book agent, no large attachment without permission, and no claim that an outline is a completed manuscript.

Targeted query

Approach agents whose active wish lists and sales history fit the lead book.

Full-manuscript review

Supply the exact requested version and disclose other active requests or offers.

Representation decision

Evaluate editorial vision, submission plan, communication, commissions, and agency terms.

Publisher submission

The agent approaches editors, manages competing interest, and negotiates the commercial deal.

Multiple offers: Aurora may receive interest from more than one agent or publisher, but overlapping exclusive rights cannot be granted to several parties. Competing offers should be compared as complete contracts—not merely by the headline advance.
